I'm posting this week's favorites a day late because my bus to Cape Cod didn't have wifi as I was hoping. We'll call this a special edition of FF- the "home edition" if you will. Got lots of plans with family and friends for the next two days! It's good to be home and decompress a bit.

DO IT: Things to do this weekend in NYC
Climb around the new Met exhibit: Big Bambu. The exhibit, on the rooftop of the Met, is a wave-like sculpture built from bamboo that visitors are invited to walk over. Wear your sneakers, as the walking surface is uneven. Don't look down: the path is up to 40 ft from the rooftop in some parts- that's 100 ft above Central Park. Go on a sunny day and bring your camera!

Check out Future Development - a graffiti art exhibit downtown. The exhibit features work from the "founding fathers" of the art form who started in the 70's, up through present artists. The exhibit runs until the 13th- I'm going to try to get down there next week. Street art is a big inspiration for my L2R line, so it's something I'm very interested in.

WATCH IT: videos I peeped this week (that you should too) T-shirt War- a stop motion video by Rhett and Link. This is so fun! Love it. A live cover of MGMT's Kids by 7 ukeleles, an accordion and a cajon. This is absolutely fantastic. Must see.
HEAR IT: songs I downloaded this week 1. The New Year by Death Cab for Cutie 2. Paris by Kate Nash 3. Kiss That Grrrl by Kate Nash 4. You Were So Far Away by Kate Nash 5. Do-Wah-Doo by Kate Nash

FOLLOW IT: blogs I discovered this week  Passive Agressive Notes is a pretty silly site that collects just that- notes left for people that suggest they change their behavior, or else. Geek Sugar is a perfect blend of geekery and fun... the kinda stuff I like! Tons of cool stuff and gadgets you always wanted or never knew you needed.   DO IT: add these to your to-do list Why not get a drink from the outdoor bar at the Bryant Park Grill? We stopped by yesterday after MOMA and got a couple Sam Adam's Summer Ales on draft... was most refreshing. Also, there are Tribeca Film Festival rush tickets available! Catch a flick with some girlfriends or your fave boy.

Love is in the Air by Irene Suchocki

SEE IT: art and photography I fell for this week
I discovered Irene Suchocki's photography on etsy while searching for photos of Paris. Her work combines photography and art to make beautiful artwork. You can view (and swoon over) her portfolio here.

I also love the photography by Rachel Ballard (see her blog below!). The colors in her photos make for very nostalgic-looking prints. Take a peek at her etsy store and see for yourself!

HEAR IT: songs I downloaded this week
1. Step Out of Line by Andy Laird 2. Sail Into the Sun by the Funky Lowlives 3. Four Three by All India Radio 4. Happens All the Time by Cold 5. Arrival by Pale 3

FOLLOW IT: blogs I discovered this week
The Clothes Horse - Who doesn't love clothes?! Rebecca fashions up great outfits and takes fab photos to share with her readers.
Rachel B. Blog - Rachel shares her photography, design and art with her readers, and even offers photo e-courses.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf by Matt Katz (an image from his illustrated book by the same title)

DO IT: add these to your to-do list
I've mentioned Artists and Fleas before, but you MUST go tomorrow, because my friend Matt Katz will be there selling some of his artwork. Originally from New Zealand, Matt is also currently part of an exhibition at the Brunswick Street Gallery in Melbourne, April 23rd - May 6th... You know, for those of you who just happen to be in Australia this week or next. Seriously though, he'll be famous someday, so go check out his work and say hello tomorrow!

Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful out in NYC! Why not get a picnic box from Alice's Tea Cup and enjoy the afternoon in Central Park? You can call ahead and have them put together a lunch box for two- scones, tea sandwiches, cake, and hot or iced tea! YUM! I hope to be doing this as well... with birthday tea and a candle on my piece of cake!

An abbreviated list of favorites this week...  photo by Ronald Koster, part of the B&W collection below; see his flickr page here

SEE IT: photography I fell for this week I found a great collection of black and white photographs of all subject matter... the snails above is a great catch. A small girl taking a photo on a pier is another favorite. Collections like this one make me want to dust off my old 35mm and take photographs of things that inspire me.   Richard Sandler's collection of 1980's NYC is eye-opening. New York was a different world altogether in the 80's, and Sandler does a great job of capturing the grit and edge that defined that era in the city. Charles Maze has taken tons of great photos of Paris and New York. The colors and composition of all of his photos is beautiful. He also takes most of the photos on Check Your Paris- a lovely blog showcasing boutique hotels in Paris and things to do while you're there. (I've also been given a most exciting opportunity to guest blog for them while I'm in Paris!)
HEAR IT: songs I downloaded this week
1. Smoke Without Fire by Duffy 2. Stolen by Civil Twilight 3. The War by Brown Shoe 4. Cleaning Apartment by Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet 5. For Marcia by Amplifier 6. No Time for Fears by Republic of Letters 7. Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet 8. Do No Wrong by Thirteen Senses 9. Cowboys, Engines by the Boxer Rebellion 10. Aquiline by Riddle of Steel

SEE IT: art I fell for this week
I love Jeremyville's NYC posters. They all warrant long stares... and when you look at them a second time you still see something you missed. The one above is my fave, and he has Central Park and SoHo prints as well. He also designs bags, toys, skate decks... his Converse sneakers are hot! I'd so rock a pair.

HEAR IT: songs I downloaded this week
1. Elbow - The Stops 2. A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope 3. 10 Mile Stereo by Beach House 4. Rebellion (Lies) by Arcade Fire 5. Lazarus by the Devlins

FOLLOW IT: blogs I discovered this week
I get overwhelmed with the number of blogs I try to keep up with on a daily. It’s so easy to get lost clicking and clicking through blog rolls and links until you don’t know where you started 90 minutes ago. WeLoveIndie.com curates the best in indie design, art and creative blogs to bring you the best of the best. What was lost, now is found.

I’m in love with Ange’s blog, lushlee.com. Every single post of hers has something I want to wear, hang in my room, or share with friends. I’ve been getting so much inspiration for creative projects and home décor!

DO IT: things to add to your to-do list this week

I took a walk in Central Park on Wednesday night and it was beautiful! The magnolias and other flowers are potent and look so pretty. The upcoming week is going to be cooler, but with lots of sunshine- go out and enjoy it.

Check out Artists and Fleas and the Brookyn Flea this weekend! They've both got tons of vintage and homemade goodness to snap up for you or your friends. Buy some new spring decor for your apartment. It's time to start thinking about Mother's Day, too!
