buy it: city opera thrift shop

buy it

NYC Opera is gearing up for their new season (soo looking forward to Intermezzo) which starts this week. Last year I went to two shows courtesy of Opera for All, which offers rush tickets for just $25. Last week I learned about City Opera Thrift Shop; proceeds from the shop go towards the creation of costumes for NYC Opera's new productions. The shop has been dubbed by Vogue magazine as "the highest quality thrift shop in New York"- that alone is a good enough reason to check them out.

They have tons of clothing, shoes, housewares, accessories, artwork and furniture. They'll even pick up any donations you have, free of charge. It's totally worth the trip, especially if you're looking to add a touch of designer vintage to your wardrobe or change up your apartment decor. Plus, you'll be supporting a great institution that is a fabulous asset to our city!

buy it: irregular choice

buy it

A friend of mine recently turned me on to Irregular Choice shoes-- I'm so in love! I've always been the type to buy shoes that standout... I don't want what everyone else is wearing. I want to turn heads. It was a big deal in my small town high school to have shoes that no one else had. I got on board when I was the first to buy metallic blue Doc Marten boots when I was 15, and I haven't stopped since. I love colors, patterns, textures-- anything over the top or unusual. Going along with my love for anything whimsical and worthy of Wonderland, Irregular Choice shoes are gorgeous enough to be called art. Here are my favorites:

How fun are these?! The embellishment on these basic black pumps make them extra flirty and super cute from the back!

I was on board with the spats look ages ago (I even made my own pair)... it's a big trend this fall.

I'm picturing wearing these pumps with a fab baby blue dress with a white bib... get all vintaged out.

These boots are fab! Check out the white rabbit in the teacup on the heel- awesome!

Queen of hearts, anyone? These are amazing.

Not sure what I'd wear these with, but they're fantastic. Gothic Alice- I'm loving the stripes.

Irregular Choice is located on Lafayette, or you can shop online. These shoes are definitely on my Christmas wish list already!

buy it: new bedding

I've been slowly decorating my room, and have been dying to get new bedding. I finally went to Bed Bath & Beyond and found this fab grey and yellow duvet set to go with my grey furniture and soon-to-be blue walls. It was a bit of a splurge: butter yellow sateen sheets, a grey minky blanket, extra pillowcases and the duvet cover ran me almost $300. Yikes! I've been sleeping like a baby though... everything is so fluffy and soft! Perfection.
